Fernando Santos: ‘Let's see if we do well to meet the objective of promotion’

The Portuguese coach recognises that Almeria ‘B’ will have to put up a brave fight against ‘3 difficult tough rivals’ to move into Segunda Division RFEF

UD Almeria ‘B’ head coach Fernando Santos ‘Nandinho’ declared himself satisfied with the victory of his squad against Torreperogil. Even though the tie was worth it for the youth players, the Portuguese stated: ‘we should’ve won this game because of the points.’ Not surprisingly, these results will count in the mini-league for promotion and that means that, in the opinion of the Portuguese coach, the Indalicos will have to put up a brave fight to succeed: ‘we now have a fight on our hands because there’re teams that have an advantage and we have to try to close that gap.’

Almería ‘B’ will have to take on Vélez, Antequera and El Palo in the mini-league, three adversaries whom the coach sees as ‘tough’, which led him to emphasise: ‘We’ll have to give one hundred ten percent in each game against those rivals.’

Fernando Santos believes that it is essential that his players can reach this stage of the season with the lesson learnt and thus, avoid experiencing again circumstances in which they have missed triumphs that they had almost achieved. ‘I think it’s mandatory to have the lesson learnt in this phase,’ he pointed out in this regard.

The second half of the tournament kicks off next weekend in the absence of the order of play official confirmation. The second-team UD Almería squad hope to do things ‘well and with quality to reach the end of the season meeting the objective of getting promoted.’
