Fernando pens one-year contract extension
The UD Almería goalkeeper and captain will remain at the Club until June 2026 and will complete 9 seasons with the Almería-based Club, which he joined in the 2017/18 season
UD Almería and Fernando Martínez have reached an agreement to extend his contract for another season, which will see the goalkeeper to continue wearing the red and white jersey until June 2026.
With this renewal, the first team not only strengthens its goalkeeping position but also its experience in the squad, where he is one of the most authoritative voices.
The Murcia-born goalie joined the Club in the summer of 2017 and has since been a key player both on and off the pitch. Fernando is already one of the players who make up UD Almería' history and has been involved in some of the most important moments in recent years, such as the promotion in the 2021/22 season, during which he also received the Zamora Award in the second tier of Spanish football.
After renewing his contract in 2023 until 30 June, 2025 now he pens a one-season extension as a reward for a player with great professionalism and charisma, who has always been a key player for the Indálico team, with whom he has played 148 matches to date, 41 of them in the top flight of Spanish football.
