
Fernando receives UD Almeria honours following 100 appearance
The Rojiblanco goalkeeper received a UD Almeria shirt framed with the number 100 printed on it from José Juan Bonillo, the Club's representative in LaLiga
UD Almeria goalkeeper Fernando Martínez was honored in the early stages to the home match against Celta de Vigo after clocking up 100 official matches as a Rojiblanco. His 1ooth appearance was recorded in the previous fixture against Girona FC at the Power Horse Stadium, and now José Juan Bonillo, the club's representative in LaLiga, presented him with a UD Almeria jersey framed with the number of the 100 games played printed on it.
The Murcia-born goalie played a key role in the promotion to the Spanish top flight in the past 2021/22 season. Fernando played 41 league games and another Copa del Rey match. Over the course of the current campaign he is making his top-flight debut in style and has been a starter in eleven fixtures out of the twelve that have been played so far.
Fernando has always shown total commitment and great professionalism until his time to shine came when his goalkeeping won him the second-tier Golden Glove in Spain. He only played one Copa del Rey match In the past 2017/18 campaign; in 2018/19, he featured in 4 in league games and 4 Spanish Cup ties; next, 24 league fixtures back in the 2019/20, season, and in 2020-2021, 15 (11 league matches, 3 Spanish Cup games and 1 promotion play-off encounter.
