Experienced Jessi Higueras to bolster Almería Women squad

The native of Águilas moves from the Portuguese FC Famaliçao. She lifted the World Beach Games Qatar 2019 title representing Spain

Jessica Higueras Miras has become the new signing of UD Almería Women. She arrives to the Andalusian girls’ squad to share her valuable experience in higher league levels, as well as in other football set-ups such as Beasal. The player, who originally hails from the nearby town of Águilas, was born on 19 June 1993. She parted ways with FC Famaliçao before signing for the Rojiblancas club.

Jessi mainly operates on the right wing on the pitch, but the skilful player is also able to occupy both winger and full-back positions. At the age of 27 she has carved out a glittering career wearing the shirts of Lorca Férminas, Murcia Féminas, EDF Logroño, Joventut Almassora, PM Friol de Lugo and the aforementioned FC Famaliçao.

In addition, the 27-year-old has played for the Spain Beach Soccer team several times, winning gold in the women's beach soccer tournament at the ANOC World Beach Games Qatar 2019. By the same token, she has an impressive track record of winning two National Beach Soccer Championships, achieved with the Murcia-based team, and clinching three titles in the National Beach Soccer League.

Jessi Higueras has spoken to the UD Almería official media and stressed that she can ‘bring speed in the team.’ She reflected on the girls run of results: ‘I really hope we can get good and positive results because I think the team are not placed in the table standings where they deserve.’
