Nico Melamed: 'I'm happy about my debut, the 3 points and the goal'

The summer UD Almería recruit officially started as a Rojiblanco. So did Valen, from UD Almería 'B', who said: 'I've made a dream come true.'

Nico Melamed, the only summer signing made so far by UD Almería apart from the activation of the option-to-buy clauses on Maximiano and Bruno Langa, spoke on UDA Radio, the Club's official radio station, at the end of the CD Tenerife match, where he made his debut as a Rojiblanco. 'I'm happy about my debut, the three points we have put on the board and the winning goal I've scored.,' he said all excited.

'I must continue working as hard as I can because before scoring I had another clear opportunity which I didn't get it right and I must improve on that,' he added.

The brand-new UD Almería central midfielder did not hesitate to state: 'We're a great team. It's been vital to achieve the first victory of the season and above all, away from home. Now, with the help of the fans, we have to achieve the second in a row at home and try to keep it up.'

Nico Melamed, who highlighted the great assistance that Arnau Puigmal gave him, indicated: 'I come to help UD Almería as much as possible to achieve their objectives.'

The 23-year-old was the big news and the main centre of attention on the island, but he not the only one because UD Almería 'B' youth player Valen was another protagonist as he was called up by Rubi due to the absence of Leo Baptistao. In the 85th minute, he stepped onto the pitch ready to  make his first-team UD Almería debut in an official match. 'It's a dream that I've made come true,' he explained on UDA Radio,

'When you start in this sport, you always think about being able to play at a professional level, it's what you aspire to,' stressed Valen, who expressed words of gratitude for his team-mates, for the strong support they give him, and for Rubi and his coaching staff, for giving him this unforgettable opportunity.
