Some statements leave no room for doubt and Sergio Arribas has repeated his message on numerous occasions during a press conference with the media: 'I'm 100% focused on getting UD Almería promoted to LaLiga'. After being one of the most talked-about names during the summer transfer window, the Madrid-born attacker was unequivocal: 'I have the same hunger as in my first year and as last season. The objective is the same: promotion. We were just one goal short. I want to get UD Almería back to LaLiga'.

Asked about the possibility of having been sold last summer, Arribas confirmed what the Club's CEO had said at the time: 'In the end, it was exactly what Mohamed El Assy said in this press room: there was no offer. I understood that position, and I don't know whether I'm valued at two, five or another figure, but the truth is that I'm 100% committed to achieving the objective of promotion to the Primera'.

Last season's top-scorer in the division is only thinking about the short term: RCD 'Mallorca. That's all I'm thinking about. I can't think about the January transfer window because I'd be shooting myself in the foot; I wouldn't give it my all in the games. I'm only focused on RCD Mallorca'.

Sergio Arribas has missed several matches at the start of this season due to an ankle problem and he explained the situation: 'I started last season with discomfort in that area too. I played in the first game, but I hurt it and asked to come off. I couldn't keep running. I tried to play through it against CD Tenerife and CE Sabadell FC, but we decided to stop for a few weeks so I could be fully fit. It was the right decision'. The player added: 'It's under control. I do preventative work to make sure it doesn't get worse and the only thing that happened was that I twisted it against CD Eldense'.

The Madrid native will receive the Pichichi trophy in the coming weeks and when asked whether he believes he can match the 26 goals he scored last season, Arribas once again put the team's ambitions ahead of his own: 'Those are difficult numbers to reach for someone who isn't a striker, but I'll do what I did that year: let things flow without setting myself a specific target. Hopefully I can reach that figure, but above all, what I want is to earn promotion to LaLiga'.
