Aridane: 'I'm sorry and indebted to all of you'
The UD Almería defender accepts responsibility, expresses remorse and urges young players to learn from his mistake
UD Almería centre-back Aridane visited the UDA Radio studio to publicly acknowledge his actions and offer a sincere apology to UD Almería, the coaching staff, El Assy, Joao, his team-mates and the fans. The centre-back admitted he had committed a serious human error and insisted the Club does not deserve the situation created by his behaviour. He also extended his apology to the owners of the vehicles affected, grateful that no one was harmed.
Clearly emotional, the Fuerteventura-born defender reiterated his regret, describing his team-mates as his second family and stressing the importance of taking responsibility when one falls short.
The 36-year-old, with a long and respected footballing career behind him, also addressed younger players and aspiring professionals, reminding them of the responsibility that comes with being role models and highlighting that driving after drinking alcohol can never be justified.
Committed to facing the consequences, Aridane affirmed his willingness to speak with anyone necessary, underlining his determination to make amends and learn from the incident.
