Arnau Puigmal: 'We must show our strength in these two home games'
The UD Almería midfielder reflects on the recent form and praises the team's sacrifice. The Barcelona native has earned his name onto the scoresheet in the last two games
Arnau Puigmal has been in top form, scoring in the last two matches and he is confident in UD Almería’s recent performance. Speaking to UDA Radio, the 24-year-old midfielder praised the team's solid run, which includes 3 wins and 2 draws in the last 5 games, stating: 'We’ve been playing very good matches and conceding fewer goals. Maybe they had more initiative at the start, but the most valuable chances were ours.'
Puigmal emphasised the team’s commitment on the pitch, noting the physical toll after their intense matches: 'It’s a good sign to see us exhausted after a game like this. It means the match was demanding and we’re pushing to the limit.'
With an impressive 5-game unbeaten run, the midfielder believes UD Almería’s resilience, especially on the road, is vital in their push for promotion: 'In the second division, points away from home are very valuable. This point is important, even though we could’ve won with the last goal of the match.'
Looking ahead, Puigmal is optimistic about their upcoming home fixtures, where Almería will look to capitalize on their strong form. “We’ve been improving our game and playing very well. Now at home, we must show our full strength and take advantage of our home ground.”
The Barcelona native also reflected on his own growth, highlighting his recent scoring streak: 'It’s been 2 consecutive weeks celebrating a goal. Last year, I struggled to attack the box and get in the shot when the cross came from the opposite side. I’m improving on that aspect and today it worked out well. I’m chuffed to be helping the team.'
