Rubi: 'This match is a gleam of hope for the promotion play-offs'
The UD Almería head coach considers the point very positive given 'the great season CD Mirandés are having' and also emphasised: 'Both sets of fans have been an example and that's how this sport should be.'
UD Almería head coach Rubi gave his opinion on the penultimate fixture of the competition, which resulted in a point that keeps their promotion play-offs alive. 'CD Mirandés had only gone 2 matches without scoring at home. The attacks they're putting in here, including comebacks, demonstrate the extraordinary season they're having. It's normal that they enjoy scoring chances, although there weren't any great saves from Fernando, nor from Raúl Fernández,' explained the head coach.
'I'd like to take this opportunity to congratulate our fans for their trip and the effort they made, the opponents we faced and the people of Miranda de Ebro, because they treated us very well,' he stated.
The Catalan left the press conference room with a positive feeling after confirming: 'The team are working well, have taken a step forward in commitment, teamwork and this is reflected in recent matches. This match is a gleam of hope for the play-offs.'
The Vilassar de Mar native highlighted, as he said before, the Burgos people's kindness and the sportsmanship between both sets of fans: 'I've always been respected even when I was in the booth. Other times it's been different. Both sets of fans have been an example and that's how this sport should be; competing from a healthy perspective and from there on there's always a winner and a loser.'
The Rojiblancos depend on themselves to compete in the promotion play-offs. Rubi emphasises the importance of the support of the Indálicos fans: 'I fully call on the fans because on Sunday we have to fill the Stadium and push from the off. We need them because their backing is really appreciated.'
