Valen: 'Whoever I play for, I'll give 100%'
The UD Almería 'B' right-winger, who is currently training with the first team and who made his La Liga Hypermotion debut in Tenerife, speaks on UDA Radio about his great experience
UD Almería 'B' right-winger Valen Gómez made his second-tier LaLiga Hypermotion debut last Saturday against CD Tenerife and he chatted to UDA Radio, the Club's official radio station, about this unforgettable experience. He is characterised by his freshness and self-confidence both on and off the pitch. 'I'm always happy, playing football is what I like the most, but this week especially. I wake up with much more enthusiasm knowing that I've made my debut, I still can't quite believe it,' he said with a smile from ear to ear.
The attacker was born in Toledo and started his footballing career in the lower ranks of CF Talavera de la Reina before becoming a Rojiblanco: 'At under-16s level, I participated to a Christmas tournament with the Castilla la Mancha team and there, I met UD Almería. I met Alberto Lasarte who was scouting at that time. He spotted me and as soon as one of the games finished I received his call.'
'My dad warned me that the change was going to be very massive, but from a very young age I've said that I wanted to play for a football Academy and live in a Residence with other young players,' he added.
The player 20-year-old commented on his feelings about what he saw at the Heliodoro Rodriguez on a general level and clarified: 'It was shown that we've got a lot of attack and quality up front. We truly hope that this season bears fruit and we see a team like the one we had the other day.'
Valen has his mind divided between the second-tier Segunda and the fourth tier Segunda RFEF, but he is looking to take his footballing skills to the next level: 'My mentality is that whoever I play for, I'll give one hundred percent, whether I play for the 'B' team or the first team. I reckon that this way, I have many more opportunities to continue growing in this sport.'
