Selvi Clua: 'We're prepared to face what's coming'
The January transfer window signing is available again after serving a one-game ban. Describes LaLiga Hypermotion as 'spectscular' and states: 'Over the course of a season there are ups and downs, not everything is perfect' and trusts the team's bouncebackability
January transfer window signing Selvi Clua now knows what it's like to wear the Rojiblanco shirt since he made his debut against Elche CF on Matchday 27, although he was sent off with two yellow cards. Now that he is available again, he has spoken on UDA Radio, the Club's official radio station.
The footballer began by sharing his first impressions after his debut and also spoke about the red card he was shown: 'In general, I felt great, supported by my team-mates, with good communication between us. The sending-off shocked me a bit, but the referee did his job. I entered the pitch with great enthusiasm and was guilty of lack of experience. Rubi told me to be calm, that I had played a good game.'
The Catalan is confident in the team's progression in the coming days, appealing to calmness to face the lack of Ws in the table column: 'We're 4 points behind the leaders, which isn't a bad position and we're prepared for everything that comes. During the season there are ups and downs, not everything is perfect. Now we're going through a rough patch, but we want to transmit confidence because we work and train very well.'
The former Girona FC player confessed which aspects are drawing his most attention in a LaLiga Hypermotion unknown to him: 'The pace of the game surprises me. I feel comfortable in this type of matches because I can provide balance and calmness in the transitions. It's a spectacular division.'
Once settled in the Club and in the city, he says: 'I'm very happy, it's true that the first weeks it took me a little more to adapt, but now I feel good. I'm quite a homebody, although I also like to get to know the city and they've given me a list of restaurants and places to go. In addition, I'm little by little studying a degree in Physiotherapy; I'm taking it easy because plan A of my life is football. We (footballers) always need to have another option for what may happen.'
Selvi Clua has trained as a professional in for Girona FC and is therefore aware that 'it isn't easy to take the step, I'm very grateful to Girona FC, but when they mentioned the UD Almería project, it was very easy for me to make a decision and I had no doubt. Michel told me that he was happy to be given this opportunity and that he hoped we'd meet in the future.'
The 20-year-old midfielder also commented on one of the happiest episodes of his career, when he debuted in the Champions League against PSV: 'It was one of the happiest days of my life, without a doubt. When I went out onto the pitch and the anthem was played, I got goosebumps and I became aware of what I was experiencing. It's something you always dream about, but you never believe it.'
