Arnau Puigmal: The table is really tight but our fate is still in our own hands
The 22-year-old central midfielder highlighted on UDA Radio that they are going to face 'a great CA Osasuna' this Saturday, although they hope to spring a surprise by beating them
UD Almería central midfielder Arnau Puigmal caught up with the UDA Radio journalists and shared his thoughts on the season to date. 'The table is pretty tight this campaign, but our fate is still in our own hands,' underlined the 22-year-old player when talking about their fight for LaLiga survival. Then, he added: 'We're going to go game by game looking for victories. I'm surprised that all of us at the bottom are so stuck in the table. It's an unusual season indeed.'
As for the next hosts, CA Osasuna, the Barcelonian pointed out: 'They're very strong and I don't think that they'll do worse just because they lost the Spanish Cup final to Real Madrid CF last Saturday. The league is another subject and on top of that, they aspire to the European positions.' The attacker has stressed that from a football point of view, the Navarra natives are 'a very strong and united group of players with a lot of quality that have the ability to win matches. We're going to face a great CA Osasuna.'
The match against the team from Pamplona will be the penultimate outing of the 2022/23 season. 'I'm looking forward to arriving there on Saturday to clinch the second win away from home,' stressed the interviewee.
The Catalan also recalled the brilliant match at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez Stadium: 'That victory over Getafe CF gave us a sense of relief with not many games to go. Mentally, it helped us a lot.' In addition, the former Manchester Utd. U23 player has commented on his progress over his last performances with UD Almería: 'At first, I wasn't getting regular starts, but I've always known how much I could contribute. I'm happy, I'm here to help the team and we must continue like this.Vital matches are coming and we have to stick together with burning enthusiasm to achieve the goal.'
