Rubi: 'I expect a fighting spirit from the team at La Romareda'
The head coach trusts that UD Almería have learned from the mistakes in the last two away games and is totally committed to 'representing the Club we belong to' against Real Zaragoza
The UD Almería head coach Rubi has held a press conference to talk about the keys to Sunday's clash against Real Zaragoza, about which he showed quite a bit of confidence: 'They're clear, we must take a step forward and grow at the level of resolution of defensive plays, making the most of our tactics at the attacking level. We play against opponents who are with the arrow facing up. At this point of the league we're dealing with all the opponents who are performing at their best, but it's what it is.'
The Catalan gaffer valued as positive the fact that the other LaLiga Hypermotion teams always put UD Almería as the rivals to beat: 'It's a speech that we knew would be there from the first day. It's good that they think that about us because they really see that there's potential to do good things, but we're also clear that we have to demonstrate it game after game. We're coming off two outings in which we've performed badly. I expect a fighting spirit from my team, who have learned the lesson of the last two away games. We must overcome that and represent the Club we belong to.'
The man at the helm of the Indálicos' team explained the reasons that led him to trust that UD Almería will get out of the football situation in which they find themselves in: The first aspect that allows me to convey this is that footballers who I saw had difficulty understanding certain collective tactical situations. They're taking them in. I reckon there are players who are progressing even though we're conceding goals. In addition, there are others who understand that they have to recover their maximum level.'
The Vilassar de Mar native referred to Matchday 10 adversaries Real Zaragoza, saying: 'They're a team that have very high confidence. They're daring with vertical football and young talents who are playing a leading role... But we can also outplay them if we're good with the ball when attacking. Now, the Rojiblancos are preparing to face 5 games in a fortnight so there will be opportunities for everyone, with the option to claim and secure starting spots,' as Rubi underlined.
