Baptistão: 'It's a tough-looking match'

The UD Almería forward highlights 'concentration' as one of the keys to this decisive showdown. The team co-captain expects both Andalusian sides to be operating at '110%'.

The final test of the 2025/26 season is around he corner and UD Almería co-captain Léo Baptistão has outlined some of the key factors that could help them come through it successfully.

'We have a lot of respect for each other and I expect a tough-looking and intense matchI reckon concentration will be crucial because both Málaga CF and UD Almería will be giving 110% to achieve the objective,' he told reporters in the press room at the UDA Stadium.

The UD Almería forward also stressed the importance of being ready for the different scenarios that can arise in a match of this magnitude: 'Both teams have had to come back from difficult situations in the semi-finals and I believe we'll be prepared to deal with whatever happens.'

The Brazilian player praised the strength in depth within the squad as a major factor behind the team's progress to this stage: 'UD Almería don't have starters and substitutes; we've got a squad full of options.'

Speaking about the team's experience, Baptistão added: 'Unfortunately, experience alone doesn't help win matches like this, so we'll have to run like youngsters and stay alert to everything. Málaga CF, for instance, have had a very good season and have been playing with a lot of confidence and enjoyment.'

The season's final match will be played at the home of the Rojiblancos and the Brazilian forward send a message to the fans: 'From what I'm seeing on social media, there's no need to ask people to come because our supporters are fully involved and just as excited as we areI only ask them to keep pushing us for 90 or 120 minutes, just as they've done all season, because they've been hugely important in every single match.'
