Rubi: 'It's very difficult to score against SD Huesca'
The UD Almería head coach states that his team 'has to show respect' at El Alcoraz stadium, in addition to keeping up their attacking potential and continuing to improve defensively. The Catalan gaffer talks about the rivals' enormous strengths
'It's very difficult to score against SD Huesca. The normal thing is there will be two evenly-matched sides because of how they work in defence and because of the improvement that we're experiencing in this aspect,' stated UD Almería head coach Rubi ahead of Sunday's match in Huesca.
The Rojiblancos' gaffer, who indicated that he had doubts about Baba and the absence of Robertone, considered it key for this new league event to 'go all out on the pitch and instill respect.' For this, it will be decisive to 'see UD Almería, who are strong in attack and continue to improve defensively, which we've worked on.' In fact, he argued: 'You always try to keep a clean sheet because it's very important, but if they don't score more than one goal, like in the last few games, we have a good chance of winning.'
And the potential in attack is considerable, as he recognised: 'We have talent, we can score on the counter-attack, in plays started even from the goal like the second one in Zaragoza and against Albacete Balompié, from set pieces... and on top of that, we have our centre forward performing at his electric best. The truth is that I'm very happy with Luis Suárez.'
'When it comes down to strategy plays, they're the best, with spaces that kill you, they have clear ideas and relevant players. Talking about SD Huesca gives me goosebumps,' as it is a special club for Rubi as he spent a season guiding them to promotion to the Primera division. His memories are all positive. The Catalan head coach reflected 'how tough the tier is this year and achieving two consecutive victories is more worth it than ever, but we have the obligation to win more times. Every game is a different battle.'
