Marc Pubill: It's time to put the vibes and the results on the same level
The 20-year-old UD Almería right-back considers that the squad has made the most of the international break and says that they are going to go to Villarreal better prepared
'Its time to put the vibes and the results on the same level,' stated UD Almería right-back Marc Pubill in an interview with to UDA Radio, the Club's official station. He argued: 'The truth is that we're playing well with the ball and the vibes are good, although the results aren't what we wanted. Perhaps, we're having problems in the areas and we're working to solve them.'
Marc Pubill has no doubt that despite the absences 'we've made the most of the international break to improve some aspects of our game and correct others in which we weren't right. I reckon we're going to go to Villarreal better prepared.'
When talking about Sunday's fixture at La Cerámica Stadium, the 20-year-old commented: 'Whenever there's a change of head coach, the footballers become more motivated, and that's the attitude that we're going to find in the rivals on this next Matchday, but we're going to play our game and try to obtain a positive result.'
The Terrassa-born was shortlisted for Spain U21, although he did not make it to the final national squad list. 'Being part of the national team is always a short or medium term goal that I set for myself. I hope that if it's short term, the better,' he explained.
Meanwhile, Pubill admitted: 'When I arrived I didn't expect to join the Starting XI so soon because there's great intra-squad competition for the position, but I'm all chuffed with the trust that the head coach has placed in me.'
At the beginning of the 2023/24 season, Marc Pubill has had to deal with Vinicius, Darwin Machís… 'I think I've done a good job in the games I've played and against these footballers in the defensive aspect, although I always want to improve and go further.'
Adapting to UD Almería and the city has not been difficult at all because on the one hand, 'I always have the support from my team-mates, especially from Melero, with whom I coincided at Levante UD. He helps me a lot.' On the other hand because 'I'm with my parents, my little sister and my girlfriend here in Almería, a city that I'm starting to get to know and that I really like.'
