UD Almería train at CD Tenerife’s Sports Complex

The Rijiblancos return to Almería city on a charter flight. The players who featured for the most minutes at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium completed a recovery session, while the rest of the squad trained at a higher intensity

UD Almería held a training session at CD Tenerife’s Sports Complex before returning to Almería in the early afternoon, following Sunday night’s match at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López on Matchday 2. The coaching staff opted to travel back later and use the morning to complete a suitable training session, which is exactly what the team did.

The players who played the most minutes in the first away trip of the season focused on recovery, while the rest of the squad worked at a higher intensity, with rondos, one-v-one situations, crosses and finishing drills among the exercises.

22 players took part in the session. Although head coach Xavier García Pimienta named a 20-man squad for the match, the travelling party also included new signing Áron Yaakobishvili and forward Thalys, who was unable to be included on the Matchday squad list. The decision to train in Tenerife before returning to Almería meant both players travelled with the team, while for Hungarian goalkeeper, it was also an opportunity to integrate with his new team-mates.

Tuesday will be a rest day for the squad, with training resuming on Wednesday as preparations begin for Matchday 3, which will once again take place away from home. The Rojiblancos will travel to Sabadell on Saturday, 29 August, with kick-off scheduled for 5pm. The team will travel on Friday after completing their final training session in Almería.

The Rojiblancos will have 3 training sessions to prepare for their next league fixture and will be looking to bounce back from their defeat in Tenerife.
