Rubi. We could do with a win, a draw and even a defeat on the last Matchday

UD Almeria head coach Rubi shared his thoughts after the goalless stalemate against Real Valladolid CF at the Power Horse Stadium and showed himself disappointed at not having been able to achieve their goal, but at the same time, confident that they could achieve it next Sunday on the last Matchday. 

 

When talking about the last home game, he said: ‘We played a fantastic first half, one of the best of the entire season and we should’ve taken the lead. The second period saw two evenly matched teams who were creating chances. We fought the match and we deserved to win.’ 

 

Regarding the current situation of the team in the relegation scrap, Rubi explained: ‘We already knew that this was going to be a hieroglyph of results and combinations, however we continue to depend on ourselves. Before we knew that we could do with a victory, now we know that also a draw and even a defeat depending on other Matchday 38 results. There are many scenarios that we could benefit from, but we’ll go all out for the three points in Barcelona.'

 

When asked about the line-up and El Bilal Touré coming on from the bench, the Rojiblancos’ gaffer said: ‘We’ve played with fire, although now we have a week ahead for him to improve his fitness.’
