Iván Martos: 'It's difficult to go through stages in the same club; I was lucky to do it at UD Almería'
The 27-year-old left-back, who spent 10 seasons at UD Almería, now plays for next rivals CD Eldense. He states that he will always have a deep affection for the Almeria Club
CD Eldense left-back Iván Martos will be one of UD Almería's next opponents this Sunday and he has caught up with UDA Radio. He has mentioned the deep affection he has for the Club that was his home for so many years: 'It's going to be a very special match, I don't really know the feelings I'm going to have because it's the first time I'll face UD Almería playing for another team.'
On Sunday, Martos will meet up with former team-mates, with whom he experienced great moments, such as promotion to the top tier of Spanish football: 'I met many of the players who are still in the squad today and it's always good to see them on the pitch.'
Regarding the successes achieved as Rojiblanco, the 27-year-old pointed out: 'They're very special moments that I cherish.' Iván Martos spent 10 seasons at UD Almería. He arrived in the past 2013/14 season, as a youth player, and left in the summer of 2023.
'In the world of football, it's very complicated to go through stages in the same club, but I was lucky to be able to do it at UD Almería. From the beginning, a lot of confidence was transmitted to me. I'm very grateful to everyone and I'll always be fond of them,' the defender acknowledged.
On the other hand, the Manresa-born confessed how important Sunday's fixture is for his current team, CD Eldense: 'We have a lot of confidence as hosts. It has to be felt especially because on the last Matchday, against FC Cartagena, we couldn't get points. The game against UD Almería is a good way to become stronger at home.'
