Marcos Luna: 'We’ll need to be mentally strong in Burgos'
The UD Almería right-back previews the game against Burgos CF at El Plantío stadium calling it a 'battle' and backing his side
UD Almería are set for a tough yet motivating away trip and right-back Marcos Luna shared his thoughts ahead of the match: 'The team’s motivation for this Matchday is at its highest. Our focus is solely on Burgos CF because any hopes of promotion depend on the next game. Then it’ll be the home match and later people will talk about Sporting de Gijón… but right now, it’s only Burgos on our minds.'
Luna analysed the kind of contest expected at El Plantío stadium: 'We know how strong Burgos CF are at home. It’s a ground where it’s hard to impose your style because they don’t give you much time on the ball. One of the keys will be staying mentally strong and showing personality because, with the way they press and deliver balls into the box, it can feel like they’re dominating you, even when it’s just an illusion. If there are moments when we have to dig deep, we will,' explained the defender. 'It'll be a battle and if we’re second in the table, it’s also because we’re capable of winning there.'
Speaking about playing styles, the Zaragoza-born full-back added: 'We feel comfortable in the chaos of being a very attacking team, which means we can concede chances, but we’re also able to attack with structure against deeper, more organised blocks. We combine both phases well.'
The 23-year-old defender is delighted with his first season at the Club: 'I couldn’t have chosen better than joining a Club with the highest ambitions. Hopefully, we can cap it off with promotion to the top flight.'
