Vicente Moreno: The result is too harsh

The UD Almería head coach wondered what would have happened if his team had managed to seize one of the many opportunities created in the first game of the season

UD Almería head coach Vicente Moreno did not hide his disappointment at the home defeat suffered against Rayo Vallecano on Matchday 1. 'The result is too harsh considering how the match has planned out,' he commented. While his team created numerous goal-scoring chances, the rivals practically had those two penalties.

On that note, the Valencian gaffer wondered what would have happened if UD Almería had managed to seize some of those chances. Sure, the result would have been different.

In addition, as he pointed out, 'the success rate of the players who have been able to score is higher than the one they had against Rayo.' Vicente Moreno also stressed: 'We still have a lot of room for improvement and we must continue working hard. Some footballers have just arrived with not enough time to train properly.' He did not have many other options on the bench.

The UD Almería head coach spoke of 'the details,' which, as he has already warned in the previous one, could be key... and they were in the end. Penalties can be whistled; However, the referee forgave Unai López's sending-off before the break, an aspect indicated by the coach.

Vicente Moreno is now turning his attention to Real Madrid CF, who are visiting the south coast next Saturday, another game at the Power Horse Stadium. 'It'll be an extremely tough game, but at the same time it's exciting,' he concluded.
