'The UD Almería project is exciting and I like it a lot. They didn't have to convince me of anything to come,' stated last UD Almería signing Selvi Clua, who has been officially presented by Club CEO Mohamed El Assy in a press conference held in the conference room. The midfielder moves from Girona FC, with whom he has played 7 games this season; 4 league fixtures, 2 Spanish Cup ties and one Champions League match, in addition to those corresponding to the UEFA Youth League.
As the 20-year-old explained: 'I've been training normally, I've also been doing so here since my arrival and therefore I'm available to the head coach when he deems appropriate.'
When asked what he could contribute and who his idols were, he responded: 'Above all, balance and keeping the ball. I'm young and I have things to improve, but apart from the fact that I'm in the right place to continue taking steps forward, I can also, as I said, contribute in certain aspects.'
As for his idols and players he looks up to for, he made it clear: 'Busquets and Rodri.' Selvi has just turned 20. He is 1.89m tall and has signed until 2030. He is considered 'a defensive midfielder,' although technically well-equipped. His objective is none other than 'to help UD Almería achieve their goal of promotion.'
The brand-new Rojiblanco stressed: :My team-mates have welcomed me very well from the first minute. There's a great dressing room.' He will have to compete with Lopy, Robertone, Melero... about whom he said: 'They're helping me a lot; Melero, spectacular.'
Regarding UD Almería's chances in the league, he commented: 'This is about going game by game and always being very strong. There's a great team,' and when talking about the great competitiveness in the second tier, he assured:'The competition like this is very exciting.'
