UDA U19s 'A' youngster Pedro Fidel makes UDA 'B' debut as a starter

The results obtained by the UDA Academy youth sides are 8 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats

UD Almería Under-19s 'A' promising player Pedro Fidel made his UD Almería 'B' debut this past Sunday in the Segunda RFEF tier playing as a starter against Villanovense. The game ended with a new triumph for the youth team with head coach Alberto Lasarte at the helm. The absences of injured Edu Pla and suspended Paco Sanz, led not only to the footballer's call-up, but also his debut with the Club's second team in a division in which the majority of rivals are betting on experience.

The main objective for the UD Almería Academy is to help homegrown and budding players gain experience in other higher tiers of Spanish football. In fact, there are several 'B' team players who are training on a daily basis with the first team. UD Almería 'B' counts on Under-19s 'A' youngsters, the UDA U19s 'A' give UDA U19s 'B' opportunities and so on.

Pedro Fidel, a tall centre-back (1.92m tall) and 18 years old, arrived in the January transfer window last season at UD Almería U19s 'B'. He was signed from Sporting Atlético, Ceuta. In the current campaign, he is a UDA U19s 'A' regular and now he has made his debut with the second team.

The UD Almería youth teams have achieved  8 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses over the past weekend. UDA U19s 'A' lost to unbeaten leaders Betis Balompié 7-0, in a match in which the young Indálicos regretted the absences and the flu caught by other footballers. Meanwhile, UDA U19s 'B' settled for a goalless stalemate (0-0) at home against CD 26 de Febrero and despite this share of the points they remain second.

Two triumphs for the Under-16s 'A' and 'B'. The first beat Algeciras CF 2-0 while the latter won over CD We Fútbol 0-2. As for the Under-14s, victory for the 'A' group against Seneca (2-0) and severe defeat for the 'B' group away to CD We Fútbol (6-0).

In addition, the two under-12s, the two under-10s and the youngest under-8s (UDA U8 rested) won their respective matches and remain at the top of their tables.
