UD Almería U19s 'A' fall at the last hurdle

The Málaga CF U19s better goal difference leaves the UDA Academy products out of the Spanish Cup U19. 6 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats have been the scores recorded by the UDA Academy youth sides

It could not be in the end. UD Almería Under-19s 'A' will not be in the draw for the Spanish Cup U19 on Wednesday as they are left out of the tournament. The UDA Academy products, who spent the entire first half of the league aspiring to this tournament, did not reach their goal due to the overall goal difference.

The first four in the group reached the Cup and the Rojiblancos were 6th when they reached the halfway point of the league. They have had the same points as Málaga CF U19s and La Cañada, but the draw in Marbella was not enough to make it to the tournament. If they had won, they would have been fourth in the standings.

The UD Almería Academy youth teams finished the weekend with 6 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses. The victories were for the UD Almería U19s 'B' in Melilla (0-3), for the Under-12s 'A' against CD Jaén (10-3), for the Under-12s 'B' against CD Tae, for the Under-10s 'A' against Villa de Albox and for the two under-8s against AD Las Marinas 10-0 (Group 'A') and UDA U8s 'B' beat CD Retamar 2-1.

The youth teams who shared the spoils with their rivals were UD16s 'A' against Cádiz (1-1), U14s 'A' (0-0), also against the Cadistas, and UD Almería U19s 'A' in Marbella.

Three teams were left without points: UDA UD16s 'B' against Pavía (5-2), the under-14s 'B' away to CD 26 de Febrero (2-0) and the under-10s 'B' against CD Maavi (1-2).
