UDA youth teams shine: U19 'A' close in on Spanish Cup, U19 'B' extend lead

The U19 'A' victory brings Spanish Cup dream closer, while U19 'B' strengthen top spot

It was a highly successful weekend for UD Almería's youth academy, with the Under-19 'A' and Under-19 'B' teams both notching up important victories in their respective divisions.

The Under-19 'A', playing in the División de Honor, hosted Calavera CF in Huércal and triumphed 2-0, leapfrogging them in the standings. With an unbeaten run of 4 matches, Rafilla's team are now closing in on the coveted Spanish Cup U19 qualification spots. Their next challenge comes in the form of a tough away trip to Granada CF.

Meanwhile, the Under-19 'B', who currently lead their division, continued their impressive form with a 2-1 away victory over runners-up Marbella. This win, secured in Héctor Berenguel's debut match as head coach, extends their lead to four points at the top of the table.

Weather disrupts under-16s 'A' and under-14s 'A' matches. While the Under-16 'A' and Under-14 'A' teams were unable to play their scheduled matches at Betis's ground due to poor weather conditions, their 'B' teams saw action and performed well. The under-16 'B' claimed a thrilling 3-4 away win against Puerto Malagueño, while the Under-14 'B' earned a hard-fought goaless draw against Juventud de Torremolinos in Málaga.

The Under-12 'A' team faced a narrow 3-4 home defeat to Puerto Malagueño, but the under-12 'B'under-10s and Under-8s all recorded dominant victories in their respective matches, continuing the UD Almería Academy's strong tradition of success at the younger age levels.
