UD Almería U19s' Spanish Cup qualification hopes dented

The Rojiblancos U19s' fate now out of their hands after 1-0 loss to Sporting Atlético un Ceuta

UD Almería U19s 'A' now face an uncertain path to qualify for the Spanish U19 after a 1-0 defeat to Sporting Atlético in Ceuta. A series of disappointing results, including a draw at home against bottom-placed Maracena, have left the youthful Rojiblancos' chances hanging by a thread. With the league's first half coming to an end on 4 January, 2026, up to 6 teams will battle for the 2-3 available spots in the prestigious cup tournament.

Currently sitting in 8th place in their group, UD Almería U19s 'A' are only 3 points off 3rd place, but now rely on favorable results elsewhere to secure their qualification. The top-4 teams from each of the División de Honor groups, plus the 4 best fifth-placed sides, will qualify for the Copa del Rey U19.

The Academy products no longer control their own destiny, as they must win their remaining fixtures and hope other results go in their favour.
