UD Almería Under-19s 'A' are preparing to face a new season within Group IV of the Division de Honor, the highest national ranking in the tier and will have a really strong start with three games played in one week.
To start, this Saturday (KO 6:30pm) the boys will host San Félix, a good Málaga-based youth team at the Francisco Pomedio Municipal stadium located in the town of Huércal de Almería. On Wednesday, they will make a trip to Granada as they visit Alhendín Balompié...and to round off the week on Sunday, 8th September, UD Almería Under-19s 'A' will play at home again against Betis U19.
At the moment, the team coached by Zeus Carmona is focused on the first and imminent match against San Félix, who last season finished the league in a comfortable zone, so they will not be, by any means, an easy opponent to overcome.
The UDA U19 'A' squad presents many new faces compared to the previous year, and the players' development will take time. However, 'Juan Oncala' Fair Trophy was a good test in which the youthful Rojiblancos won after beating Valencia in the semis and La Cañada, also league rivals, in the grand final.
The season starts with high expectations and the objective, apart from promoting youth players to the senior teams, is to seek qualification to compete in the Spanish Cup U19 at the end of the first half of the season and continue growing in the second.
