UD Almería 'B' enter pre-season final stretch
The UDA Academy youth players win the 'Alcalde de Lorca' Trophy on penaltis. This Saturday, they are playing the last friendly against Granada CF 'B', who will be fourth-tier Segunda RFEF rivals
UD Almería 'B' enter the final stretch of the pre-season with the last two friendlies that will help head coach Alberto Lasarte pick out the squad that next week will begin the league within the Segunda RFEF Group IV.
On Matchday 1, the youthful Rojiblancos are visiting Águilas FC on Saturday, 31st August for a 7:30pm kick-off. The 'B' team have won the 'Alcalde de Lorca' Trophy against the owner of this Murcia-based outfit that compete in Tercera RFEF. The match ended two-all, with UD Almería B's goals being grabbed by Cantón and Ballestero. In the penalty shootout, goalkeeper Jesús López, who is one of the summer signings made for this upcoming season, saved two penalties, being key in the victory.
Juanmi, Alex Mendes, Paco Sanz, Edu Pla, Nacho Vila, Svidersky, Josema, Marsu, Luis Lara, Hugo Neves and Manu Morillo were the starters. In the second half, the gaffer rang the changes with Jesús López, Peñalver, Ballestero, Valen, Joan, Loren, Cantón, Torres, René Pérez, Abarca and Ahmed featuring.
This Saturday at 10am and behind closed doors, UD Almería 'B' will play the last friendly at the Granada CF Sports Complex, taking on the Granada club 'B' team, who will be Group IV Segunda RFEF rivals. Without a doubt, it will be a stern off-season test to wrap up the 2024/25 pre-season.
