UD Almería 'B' eye home victory against Linares Deportivo
Lasarte's side aims to build momentum after away win over Málaga CF
UD Almería 'B' will look to gain strength at home as they host Linares Deportivo this Sunday at 12 noon. Head coach Alberto Lasarte is determined to lead his team to victory, stressing the importance of coming out strong and showing resilience in front of their home fans.
The Jaén-based side Linares Deportivo have drawn their first 2 matches against Águilas FC and CD Estepona, both of whom competed in the promotion play-offs last season. Despite a difficult home opener loss to Recreativo de Huelva, Almería 'B' bounced back with a hard-fought 1-0 win away against Málaga CF's 'B' team last Sunday.
'We want to put the disappointment of Matchday 1 behind us and come out with a knife between our teeth,' Mr Lasarte commented.
'We need to be strong at home, this is where we must make our mark if we're to achieve our goal of staying up. Our squad has undergone many changes and it'll take time for the players to adapt fully, but we’re focused on improvement'' he added.
The gaffer acknowledged the challenges of facing Linares Deportivo, a team that have bolstered its ranks with experienced players from Spain’s second division. 'Linares are a very high-caliber team with a head coach who has a clear and bold vision,' Lasarte said.
'We’ll need to stay sharp, particularly after the mistake we made on Matchday 1, conceding early from a set piece,' he explained.
With both teams eager for a win, the match promises to be a highly competitive affair.
