UD Stadium stadium swaps summer grass for winter grass
The Royalverd company, which looks after the lawn, has 15 days to leave the pitch like a carpet for Thursday's match against Albacete Balompié
The UD Almería Stadium has begun to be returfed taking advantage of the fact that the first team will now play two consecutive away games in Oviedo and Zaragoza. The company in charge of looking after the pitch has 15 days to leave the pitch like a carpet facing the match against Albacete Balompié, which will be the next one at home on Thursday, 24th October.
Every year around this time, the lawn has to adapt and the summer Bermuda grass, has to be replaced by winter Ryegrass. Royalverd, which is the company responsible for taking care of the Stadium 's turf, began the work on this swap last Sunday, once the first team completed the recovery training session planned after the match against Burgos CF.
Royalverd's work initially focused on mowing the current grass as much as possible and then plow furrows before sowing the Ryegrass seed. Subsequently, with the appropriate watering and care, the new grass will begin to grow over the previous one. The pitch will obviously have to be in the best possible condition before 24th October.
