Rubi: 'The team fought to the limit to come back and win the match'
The UD Almería head coach admits it was not his side's best display against Andorra but praises his players’ belief and 3 superbly taken goals.'
'The team fought to the limit to come back and win the match,' said UD Almería head coach Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia 'Rubi' when sharing his post-Andorra thoughts. It was a 3-2 that secured a third consecutive victory for the Indálicos, who now sit on 45 points in the standings.
The gaffer admitted it had not been a good performance and acknowledged there were 'poor spells' during the game. He was also quick to credit the opposition: 'We must congratulate the opponents because they play very good football. We already knew that, so we expected it to be very complicated.'
'We started well and missed several chances that could have left Andorra in a very difficult position. From that moment on, however, we became imprecise and they grew into the game,' he explained.
The Catalan UD Almería first-team boss highlighted 'the belief the team showed at all times, not letting their heads drop after going 1–2 down and the 3 superbly taken goals we scored.'
On the other hand, while stressing that 'it is very difficult to win matches in this division,' he admitted: 'We need to fix the fact that we're conceding too many goals.' At the same time, the Vilassar de Mar native added proudly: 'I’m very proud to have scored 50 goals.'
