Lopy: 'The head coach has managed to form a team to win games'
The UD Almería midfielder has full confidence that the team will continue to climb positions in the table. He states to feel very loved by the fans and recognises that 'because of the way I play, I understand that at certain times fans can feel nervous.'
'The head coach has managed to form a team and this helps us win games,' stated UD Almería player Dion Lopy, who showed himself clearly and emphatically when chatting to UDA Radio. The Senegalese midfielder has opened up to speak clearly and sincerely about different related sporting and personal issues during his career as a Rojiblanco.
'We're a great squad and we have a great coaching staff. We knew that in the end we had to climb positions in the table although we must continue working hard and improving things,'' he said.
Furthermore, on an individual level, the midfielder stressed: 'I'm feeling good, the head coach talks to me and helps me, the rest of the coaching staff members also prepare videos for me to see where I have failed or where I can improve…'
'I'm happy, the people treat me very well, I feel loved by the fans and we win games. I express my joy towards the fans and I dedicate it to them who have always supported me,' Lopy added.
'I'm a calm person and I also take this to the pitch. I'm slow and I can understand that at specific times people can get nervous or even criticise me when I make a mistake. It's my way of playing,' he said.
After two and a half years in France, the 22-year-old arrived in Spain last season and does not hesitate to point out: 'I really like Spanish football. I don't see too much difference between the Primera and Segunda division. All teams want to play, have the ball.'
Lopy scored his first professional goal in Elche. 'It was something I had been looking for for a long time, and it was exceptional because it also served to tie in a very important match that we ended up winning,' the midfielder stressed. On Sunday, against Deportivo de La Coruña, he will be ruled out due to an accumulation of yellow cards.
