Rubi: 'A fair draw, but we wanted to win at Anduva'
The UD Almería boss is satisfied with the control shown but regrets defensive lapses that cost in 2–2 stalemate with CD Mirandés
UD Almería head coach Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia, Rubi, described the 2–2 draw at the Anduva Stadium as fair, while admitting that his side had travelled with the clear intention of taking all 3 points.
Sharing his post-match thoughts, the Catalan underlined his team’s ambition: 'We always approach games with the objective of winning,' even if the final outcome did not fully reflect their efforts on the pitch.
Rubi nevertheless placed value on the point secured away from home, stressing the competitiveness of the league: 'In this league, every point is good.'
Analysing the contest, the UD Almería head coach explained: 'It was a very hard-fought game with both teams giving it their all.' He felt that CD Mirandés’ opening goal influenced the flow of the match, although he believed his side were largely in control. The main exception came during the opening minutes of the second half, when the hosts applied pressure with repeated crosses into the box.
The Vilassar de Mar native also highlighted UD Almería’s strong finish: 'In the last 25 minutes, we were the better side and managed to get the draw (2-2).' Rubi praised his players’ character and persistence, which ultimately earned them a valuable point.
