Rubi reflects on fair draw: 'We always want to win'

The UD Almería head coach praises his team's effort against one of the most intense opponents in the second tier of Spanish football, Real Sociedad 'B'

UD Almería's head coach Rubi described the 2-2 draw at Anoeta against Real Sociedad 'B' as a 'fair' result, though he admitted he could not be fully satisfied. In his post-match comments, Rubi emphasised that while the point was deserved, 'we always want to win and we came here for the 3 points.'

The Catalan gaffer acknowledged the challenge posed by Real Sociedad 'B', calling them 'one of the most intense teams in the division.' Rubi also noted that his side had moments where they not only matched but at times surpassed their opponents in intensity.

Reflecting on the third match of this season, Rubi admitted that his side started well but lost momentum as the game progressed. 'After a good start, we faded a bit and they took advantage of that to take the lead due to a double error on our part,' he explained.

Despite the setbacks, Rubi praised the commitment and unity of his team. 'The group's solidarity was evident and our reaction in the second half showed that we kept pushing. We tried in every way,' he concluded, pointing to his team's resilience throughout the full 90 minutes.
