UD Almería striker Thalys has been handed a 4-match suspension and fined €3,200 by the RFEF Competition Committee. The Federation’s disciplinary body met on Wednesday to rule on several matters arising from the second leg of the promotion play-off final between UD Almería and Málaga CF, played at the UD Almería Stadium.
The Brazilian forward, who came on as a substitute for Miguel de la Fuente in the 72nd minute, was shown a straight red card during stoppage-time after an incident involving an opponent in the 90+4'.
In his match report, the referee explained the dismissal as follows: 'For striking an opponent in the face with his hand, using excessive force, while the ball was not in play.'
As a result, Thalys will be unavailable for selection for UD Almería’s first 4 fixtures of the 2026/27 LaLiga Hypermotion season.
