José Juan Bonillo will continue representing the Club on LaLiga’s executive committee until 2028
UD Almería have secured their place on LaLiga’s Delegated Commission for another term, following a vote by the clubs, ensuring their continued representation in one of the most influential decision-making bodies in Spanish professional football.
The Delegated Commission acts as the driving force behind the day-to-day running of professional football. Unlike the General Assembly, which brings together all 42 clubs from the top and second divisions and involves longer decision-making processes, this smaller committee operates as an executive board.
Its main responsibilities include managing LaLiga’s budget, overseeing Financial Fair Play regulations, monitoring squad salary limits and negotiating major commercial and audiovisual agreements, which are subsequently submitted to the General Assembly for approval.
For UD Almería, retaining their seat at this table represents a major strategic achievement. Beyond the institutional prestige, membership of the Delegated Commission gives the club a direct voice and vote in shaping the regulations that affect all participating teams.
'For UD Almería, it's a source of pride and a great responsibility to once again be part of a body where the future of our competition is decided. Modern football demands that clubs play an active role at the highest level of management, and the fact that the clubs have placed their trust in us for this position demonstrates that UD Almería is regarded as a solid, serious institution with much to contribute to the growth of professional football,' said José Juan Bonillo.
Since making the step up to professional football, the Indálico Club has been represented on this governing body during alternating 2-season periods, following appointments in 2012, 2018, 2024 and 2026. José Juan Bonillo Medina has consistently served as the Club’s trusted institutional representative, thanks to his extensive executive experience in the sector.
The new delegated commission is composed as follows:
President: Javier Tebas.
First Vice-President: Miguel Ángel Gil Marín (Atlético de Madrid).
Second Vice-President: Ion André Ulazia (SD Eibar).
First Division clubs: Sevilla FC, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Real Betis Balompié, Deportivo Alavés and Villarreal CF.
Second Division clubs: UD Almería, Real Sporting de Gijón, RC Celta de Vigo Fortuna, Real Oviedo, CD Leganés and UD Las Palmas.
