Rubi: 'CD Castellón are the most daring and brave team I've ever seen'

The UD Almería gaffer warns that Monday's game 'is going to be kind of scary,' and believes that weakening the rivals' strengths and 'hurting them with our tactics' will be key. 'We have the positive atmosphere we need at home,' he says

'CD Castellón are the most daring and brave team I've ever seen. They're the ones who create the most chances and attack with the most players,' stated UD Almería head coach Rubi ahead of Sunday's home fixture. The gaffer, who took the opportunity to congratulate CD Castellón on their promotion and attacking potential with 74 goals scored in third-tier Primera RFEF, stated that it is going to be 'a game of surprises.'

'It won't be like the one we played against Sporting de Gijón, in which we could have the ball and move it from one side to another looking for the best option. They win the ball back as quickly as possible to attack, not to have possession. They're one of those who recover the most in the opposinf half. Their football is extraordinary,' he explained.

Even though CD Castellón have 4 points, the Catalan pointed out: 'They've played against rivals like Real Oviedo, who played in the final of the promotion play-off; against Cádiz CF, who have just been relegated from Primera division, against Burgos CF, who are very tough to beat on home turf...'

The man in the driving seat of UD Almería compared his own team to the next opponents in one clear aspect: 'They're, along with us, one of those who record the most shoots on goal, but they don't make the most of the chances.'

'We've been working hard during the week to learn from what we can improve, and the truth is that we're eager to play again, especially at home, and make up for the last weekend's defeat against CD Eldense.' By the way, that match and how
UD Almería lost reminded him 'of the one we played three years ago against SD Amorebieta. It was the first one we lost that season. Despite recognising that the second half in Elda wasn't good; in the first one it was possible to get ahead, I didn't want it to be dramatised and I did want other aspects to be highlighted. And as he pointed out, 'we've already talked about how complicated this division is. It's also the first game in which we were defeated, and it won't be the only one. No one said this was going to be easy.'

For this reason, the Vilassar de Mar native hoped that on Monday 'we'll have the positive atmosphere we need at home so as not to add excess to the pressure that we already have and assume.' The keys to beating CD Castellón and in general, to meet the objectives, go through this environmental factor with the support of the fans and 'doing our job well on the pitch.'

'We'll work hard to weaken the rivals' strengths and try to outplay them with our tactics knowing that it'll be a different game,' he concluded.
