Back on the ball: second summer session underway as pre-season gathers pace

The UD Almería squad complete second pre-season training session with all players involved

UD Almería are back on the ball with the second training session getting underway as pre-season gathers pace. The Rojiblancos completed a footie practice that was different from the first, but with the same essence of physical work as the main objective.

The 31 players currently coached by head coach Rubi—following the announced loan departures of Pozo and Marezi—were on the Anexo ground performing different tasks. The main focus of this Tuesday's session was a training circuit with different types of exercises.

The pitch was divided into several areas, and the squad rotated through each of the tasks as if it were a circuit. On one side, at one of the goals, crosses were whipped in from both flanks to work on aerial disputes between defenders and attackers.

In the midfield, a wide rondo sought to encourage pressure after loss, the creation of passing lanes and constant movement to provoke them.

And in another area, Álex Muñoz, Kaiky Fernandes, and Baba, who were in the gym on Monday, did tailored ball work.

Finally, Rubi shared tactical ideas with the entire squad, except for Pubill, who has more time to rest after the U21 national team's European Championship.

This Wednesday, the first double session—of the three scheduled for the week—will take place, and the team will begin to gear up for optimal performance.
