UD Almería eyes promotion as LaLiga Hypermotion play-off race heats up

UD Almería have positioned themselves exactly where they aimed to be: among the top teams in LaLiga Hypermotion. After a strong performance in recent matches, the Rojiblancos are now in the play-off zone, just one point shy of an automatic promotion spot.

Currently sitting 6th in the standings with 15 points, UD Almería are level on points with 5th-placed UD Las Palmas and 4th-placed Real Valladolid CF. Only one point separates them from 3rd-placed Real Racing de Santander and 2nd-placed RC Deportivo de La Coruña, while Cádiz CF lead the pack with 18 points. The top spots are well within reach.

In the lead-up to their match against Real Zaragoza, head coach Rubi highlighted the significance of the encounter, calling it a potential turning point in their season. 'A win against Real Zaragoza would push us closer to the top,' the head coach noted in his pre-match press conference, signaling the importance of marking the date on the calendar in red.

With a convincing 4-2 victory, UD Almería secured 10 of the last 12 available points, continuing their impressive form. The team's defensive solidity, coupled with their attacking threat, has seen them go on a 4-match unbeaten run, with 3 wins and a draw. Over this stretch, they have scored 8 goals and conceded 4.

As the second-tier competition intensifies, the Rojiblancos must remain focused. With teams like 13th-placed AD Ceuta FC only 3 points above the relegation zone, the league remains unpredictable and the race for promotion is far from over.
