The Rojiblancas begin their new chapter after last season’s promotion, with their sights firmly set on another successful campaign. CD Femarguín provide the opposition in Sunday’s season opener (KO 11am Spanish Time)
The wait is almost over. UD Almería Women are ready to kick off the 2026/27 season and begin life in third-tier Segunda Federación Women's football following their superb promotion last term.
The Rojiblancas will make their debut in the division on Sunday, 6 September, when they welcome CD Femarguín from Gran Canaria to La Juventud Stadium Kick-off is set for 11am (Spanish Time).
The opponents are one of 4 Canary Islands sides in Group III which also features 3 teams from Madrid, one from Extremadura, one from Castilla-La Mancha and 5 Andalusian clubs: UD Almería Women, Málaga CF Women, Real Betis Women, Córdoba CF Women and Sporting Club de Huelva Women
Alongside UD Almería Women and Fuensalida, who both secured promotion last season, the remaining teams in the group retain their place in the division.
Despite stepping up to a new level, UD Almería Women have no intention of simply making up the numbers. The restructuring of the women’s game means that as many as 5 teams will earn promotion to Primera Federación this season, and the Rojiblancas will be determined to compete for one of those coveted places. At the other end of the table, the bottom two sides will suffer relegation.
Pedro López will once again lead the UDA girls' senior team from the dugout, taking charge for a 4th consecutive season.
The squad retains the core of the side that secured promotion last season, providing continuity as the team takes on its latest challenge. 5 new signings have also arrived to strengthen the squad and add fresh quality ahead of the new campaign.
Now, the hard work begins. After a historic promotion, UD Almería Women are ready to take on the third-tier Segunda Federación and they are aiming high.
