UD Almería back to training after 8 days of holiday break

The Rojiblancos are back to the thick of things ahead of key Granada CF derby on 3 January

UD Almería's first team are back to business after an 8-day holiday break, kicking off the new year with intense training. The squad returned to action with a double session on the first day back, starting at the Anexo training facility and finishing the day at the Stadium.

The Rojiblancos will continue their preparations through New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, as the LaLiga Hypermotion season resumes on 3 January, when they will host Granada CF in a highly anticipated derby.

In addition to the usual post-break fitness assessments, which were crucial for players coming back from injuries or knocks, the coaching staff focused on physical, technical and tactical drills. As the week progresses, tactical preparation will intensify, with the upcoming Granada CF derby in mind.

However, two players were absent from the first session. André Horta is recovering from a viral infection, while Thalys is dealing with visa issues. Despite these setbacks, the team are determined to start 2026 on a positive note and secure three valuable points in the derby.
