UD Almería gear up to demolish Anduva's fortress

The Indálicos, who have found themselves on the losing side in their last 5 away matches, visit the best home team CD Mirandés on Sunday. Rubi's men are fighting for the promotion play-offs... The Jabato team are vying for automatic promotion

UD Almería are gearing up for Sunday's match against CD Mirandés at the Anduva Stadium. It will be the penultimate fixture of the regular season. It is undoubtedly the main focus of attention this week because it represents the only match between direct rivals in the final battles of the competition.

The Rojiblancos are fighting to remain in the promotion play-off spots while the breakthrough team of the season, the Jabato team, are fighting for automatic promotion, which they could achieve on Sunday, although a series of results must be achieved in order to achieve this.

…And UD Almería will try, as far as they are concerned, to prevent this from happening since they would have to be defeated at the Anduva, and at least need a draw to be in control of their fight for promotion.

To do so, they will have to demolish the fortress that Miranda de Ebro Stadium has become. CD Mirandés are the best home team in the second division and by far. They have won the most matches (15 of 20 with just one defeat), scored the most goals (36), and conceded the fewest, along with Elche CF (15).

In contrast, UD Almería, who are one of the best performers on home turf, have radically changed their away record. One win in January; a draw in Gijón; and 7 defeats in Albacete, La Coruña, Éibar, Burgos, Granada, Castellón, and Cádiz, the last 5 in a row.

In the last away match, despite the loss, left a very positive impression in terms of performance. It was in Cádiz where the Indálicos took the lead, and despite being riddled with sending-offs, they conceded points playing with 9 players and in injury time. The attitude they displayed, the dedication, the courage, the grit… combined with the excellent football they display at home with great attacking potential, is the necessary combination to demolish Anduva's fortress.

The squad members are training hard with this firm purpose, preparing diligently for a match that could be crucial to their aspirations.

Kaiky and Bruno Langa are back after serving one-game suspensions. On the other hand, Nico Melamed and head coach Rubi will have to sit out one more fixture.
