UD Almería to face tough challenge in Cádiz on Friday

The Rojiblancos haven't won away from home since 12 January. Since then, they've suffered 6 defeats and 1 draw, with a record of 17 goals conceded and 6 scored

UD Almería, who have been strong at home, winning their last 5 matches, the most recent 2 consecutively, now face a tough challenge in Cádiz. After returning to the promotion play-off spots, they don't want to leave them. They've spent 11 matches outside of these VIP zone and with just 4 LaLiga Hypermotion fixtures remaining, the goal is not only to remain in that place but also to try to overtake one of the teams ahead of them in the standings. To achieve this, a win over Cádiz CF at the Nuevo Mirandilla stadium will be crucial, where the Indálicos will visit next Friday, 9 May at 8:30pm.

This Matchday 39 test is a real challenge for the Rojiblancos, who are struggling on the road throughout the second half of the competition.

In fact, since their 3-0 comprehensive victory in Córdoba on 12 January, just past the halfway point of the season at the start of 2025, the team's record has been truly negative, with 6 defeats recorded in Albacete, La Coruña, Eibar, Burgos, Granada, and Castellón, and a draw in Gijón.

Furthermore, in these matches, Rubi's men have conceded 17 goals and scored 6. UD Almería need to change this team dynamic; they are obliged to do so to continue fighting for promotion to the Primera division.

In this final stretch of the LaLiga Hypermotion season, in addition to visiting Cádiz CF, they will also have to play against direct rivals on their own ground, CD Mirandés. At home, they will host Racing Santander and CD Tenerife.
