UD Almería set sights on Spanish Cup progress as league break continues

The Rojiblancos travel to Elda aiming for a place in the Round of 32, while keeping an eye on LaLiga Hypermotion ambitions

UD Almería shift their focus back to the Spanish Cup as they prepare for a tricky second-round tie against CD Eldense this Wednesday at 8pm (CET) at the Pepico Amat Stadium in Elda. With a spot in the Round of 32 up for grabs, the Rojiblancos are coming off a solid run in LaLiga Hypermotion, where they sit 3rd in the standings, just three points behind the automatic promotion places.

CD Eldense, who played in LaLiga Hypermotion as recently as last season, are no strangers to upset victories, having previously defeated UD Almería at home. The third-tier side boasts several notable players, including former UD Almería man Fidel, as well as the talented Quintanilla, currently on loan from the Rojiblancos.

Head coach Rubi and his coaching team are preparing for a challenging week, with two more training sessions planned before heading to Andorra for Saturday's league fixture. Despite a disappointing defeat to AD Ceuta FC and a goalless draw against SD Huesca last weekend, UD Almería remain well within the promotion picture as they look to balance their Cup ambitions with their LaLiga Hypermotion goals.
