UD Almería aim to regain consistency on the road'

The Rojiblancos complete preparations to try and shock Granada CF at Nuevo Los Cármenes stadium after a run of poor away results

UD Almería are putting the finishing touches to their preparations ahead of Sunday’s 4:15pm (Spanish Time) clash against Granada CF at the Nuevo Los Cármenes stadium. The Rojiblancos, who have won their last 7 home games in dominant fashion, are now looking to rediscover consistency away from home, where they have not won since 20 March, when they defeated SD Huesca at El Alcoraz stadium.

UD Almería currently boast the second-best home record in the league with 41 points, just two behind SD Eibar. However, their away form tells a different story, as they sit 6th with 23 points, behind Deportivo de La Coruña (32), Racing de Santander (30), Burgos CF (27), Córdoba CF (26), and FC Andorra (25). Improving these numbers, starting in Granada, will be crucial in their push for automatic promotion in what remains a tightly contested table.

The Indálicos have lost their last two away matches in Santander (5-1) and Castellón (2-0) and previously suffered another defeat against Real Zaragoza (2-0). They did manage a draw with Albacete BP (1-1), while their last away victory came on 20 March in Huesca (1-3).

Granada CF, with survival all but secured, will pose a serious challenge. They will be eager to bounce back from their heavy defeat in Albacete and with 3 points potentially sealing their own objectives, motivation will be high especially in a derby, where anything can happen.

Head coach Joan Francesc Ferrer Sicilia 'Rubi' welcomes back Dion Lopy after suspension, but will be without Chirino, who is banned for two matches. Meanwhile, Baba and Nico Melamed remain doubts as they continue to be assessed.
