UD Almería out of play-offs following SD Huesca's victory

The Oscenses beat Málaga CF in the 90+6' of the last match of Matchday 35 to send the Rojiblancos back to 7th place, just one point behind SD Huesca, who are now 6th in the standings

UD Almería, who with their victory last Sunday over FC Cartagena were in the play-off places temporarily by regaining 6th place in the standings, woke up outside the promotion play-off zone at the end of Matchday 35.

Monday's match between SD Huesca and Málaga CF was still to be played with the Northerns beating the Southerns to regain 6th place. They recorded this triumph in the 90+6'.

The Indálicos, with 56 points, remain 7th, although one step away from the play-offs. In fact, they are one point behind SD Huesca (6th with 57 points), 2 points behind Real Oviedo (5th with 58), 3 points behind CD Mirandés (4th with 59), 4 points behind Racing de Santander (3rd with 60), 7 points behind Levante UD (second with 63 points), and 10 behind Elche CF (leaders  with 66).

Granada CF are close behind UD Almería in 8th place with 55 points. This is what the table looks with 7 fixtures to go, with 21 points at stake. Everything is still to be decided.

Next Friday, UD Almería visit CD Castellón, who are fighting for league survival. That same day, CD Mirandés will play in Gijón. This new Matchday 36 will see a clash between SD Huesca and Racing Santander.

The Indálicos, with very little room for error now, need to win at the SkyFi Castalia stadium. It would be a giant step forward given they will then have two consecutive home games against relegation-bound rivals such as Racing de Ferrol and CD Eldense.
