UD Almería prepare for new turf debut ahead of Real Zaragoza test
The Rojiblancos train on a renovated pitch as they gear up for Saturday's home fixture at the UDA Stadium
UD Almería marked a significant moment this Thursday as they took to the newly renovated pitch at the UDA Stadium for the first time. The Rojiblancos trained behind closed doors ahead of their upcoming test against Real Zaragoza this Saturday, which will see them return to home soil after two consecutive away games.
The pitch maintenance company, Royald Verd, has replaced the Bermuda grass used during the summer with Ryegrass for the winter season. Extensive work has been carried out to ensure the surface is in optimal condition for this weekend’s match.
With 2 wins and a draw in their last three outings, Rubi’s side is keen to extend their unbeaten run, especially in front of their home fans. The last time they played at the UDA Stadium was over 20 days ago and with three of their next four matches scheduled at home, they’re eager to take full advantage of the familiar surroundings.
The final football practice before the match will be taking place on Friday, with Adrián Embarba set to return to the squad after serving a one-game suspension in La Coruña.
