The UD Almería first team ramp up preparations at the UD Almería Stadium ahead of Saturday's fixture against Real Sporting de Gijón. The game will be played at 9pm at the El Molinón-Enrique Castro 'Quini' Stadium. For the Indálicos, who played last Monday against Elche CF at home, the week is rather short and they only have three football practices to train for the league meeting in Asturias.
For this match, Lopy is available for selection after serving a one-match ban, but Selvi, who was sent off against the Elicitanos in his debut as a Rojiblanco, Will sit out the game. Melero, who missed this last game, is making positive progress, as is Arnau Puigmal. Both are working their way to full fitness.
The Catalan has undergone medical tests and the results are not as alarming as one might initially think. From the footballer's own feelings it seemed that it could be broken, but it has been ruled out. Luckilyz the issue is of less serious than expected. In this way, the medical services will find out in the next few hours whether or not Gonzalo Melero and Arnau Puigmal may be available to travel to Gijón on Saturday.
UD Almería are being put throught their paces so as to try to get back to winning ways after five consecutive games without triumphs, a run of results that nevertheless keeps the team in play-off positions just 3 points adrift from automatic promotion, although once again they must fill the 'bag' with as many points as possible for the final stretch of the league.
