UD Almería focus on Sporting Gijón after quiet transfer window deadline
The Rojiblancos face their first league home game this Saturday (KO 9:30pm). Nico Melamed remains the only new fresh in the squad. No new additions and few exits
With the summer transfer window closed and without any surprises, UD Almería are fully focused on this Saturday's match against Sporting de Gijón at the UD Almería Stadium. The first home fixture kicks off at 9:30pm (Spanish Time) because the two previous games were played away, adding 4 of the 6 points at stake. Achieving victory is the objective to start proving the home strength as hosts from the beginning.
In Rubi's previous stage at UD Almería, the stadium was a fortress. The head coach recovers 3 important players, who were absent in Tenerife: Marc Pubill, Lucas Robertone and Leo Baptistao, although the team brought great vibes at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López, achieving the first victory of the season.
The Indálicos had a final training session this Friday afternoon and on Saturday, the day of the match, they will remain together in the early afternoon waiting to face this first league match on home turf.
The transfer window has now ended with very few changes. Aside from the departures of Embarba and Jonathan Viera, and the most recent, Ramazani, on the deadline day, Koné has been the only transferred footballer. UD Almería 'B' player Marezi's promotion to the first team was another highlight.
Nico Melamed remains the only new face in the squad while Marcos Peña will play on loan for Marbella FC. The youngster was a 'B' team member training regularly with the senior team.
