Recovery complete, eyes on the play-off final

The Rojiblancos trained inside the UDA Stadium on Monday following the first leg in Málaga and will return to training on Wednesday ahead of Saturday’s decisive promotion showdown

Following Sunday night’s first-leg draw against Málaga CF at La Rosaleda stadium, the UD Almería squad held a recovery session on Monday as preparations began for the decisive second leg of the promotion play-off final.

Despite returning to Almería city in the early hours of the morning, the players reported back for training later that day. The training session was purely regenerative in nature and took place inside the Stadium, with the focus on gym-based recovery work. The squad spent virtually no time on the pitch as the coaching staff prioritised rest and recovery after the demanding encounter in Málaga.

The Rojiblancos have been granted a day off on Tuesday before returning to training on Wednesday to fully focus on Saturday’s showdown at home, where a place in LaLiga EA Sports will be at stake.

Following the draw with Málaga CF, the Rojiblancos know that another draw or a victory in front of their own supporters will be enough to secure promotion to Spain’s top flight.

UD Almería will hold 3 training sessions before the decisive fixture, all behind closed doors. Wednesday and Thursday’s workouts will take place in the morning, while the final practice ahead of the play-off final will be held on Friday evening.
